We
are seeking an experienced veterinary technician who would
like to work in veterinary industry for a pharmaceutical
company.
Responsibilities
include:
- Providing consultation on incoming cases initiated
by telephone, email, or fax.
- Providing follow-up calls to attending veterinarians
regarding cases.
- Obtain a complete case history, utilizing our
proprietary electronic medical records system.
- Update the electronic medical record with specific and
appropriate clinical detail as warranted
- Specify follow up actions to have veterinary medical
records completed and closed by appropriate veterinary
professional personnel.
- Consult both with experts (internal and external) as
required for additional information.
- Actively participate in internal and external training
including veterinary conferences.
- Maintain high quality level and respond to quality
assessments provided by the Manager of Veterinary
Services.
- Perform at required level of efficiency based on the
daily call volume.
- Obtain regular continuing education.
- Publish relevant scientific and clinical articles in
peer-reviewed journals.
- Provide field-based support to advance company
initiatives in veterinary technician outreach programs at
veterinary technician schools, major veterinary practices
and at key veterinary conferences.
- Work with marketing to help develop product support
materials.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician, Certified Veterinary
Technician, or Registered Veterinary Technician with
clinical experience including practical nursing skills.
- The ideal candidate should be licensed.
- Superb telecommunications and interpersonal skills,
along with good computer literacy and excellent typing
skills.
- Must be a self-starter, confident, ambitious, and have
the ability to interact effectively with veterinary
professionals, veterinary staff members and the general
public.
- Must be capable of independent work with or without
direct supervision.
Years
of Experience:
- Qualified graduate with minimum 1-year clinical
experience.
Background:
- Involvement in private practice or university or
industrial research.
Level
of Education:
- Licensed graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary
Technology program.
